Embark on a transformative journey into the world of pottery with our immersive 8 week Wheel-Throwing & Hand Building course. This introductory course offers a foundation in basic ceramic techniques and provides the chance to apply them through a hands-on project. In this pottery course, you'll learn a variety of essential techniques. These include preparing and wedging clay, creating pottery using pinching and coiling methods, and understanding which tools are needed and how to use them. You'll also practice throwing pots on the potter's wheel, joining and attaching parts, making handles, and using decorating slips and sgraffito for decoration. Other skills covered include slab building, working with plaster hump molds, making cylinders and bowls, trimming pots to refine their shape, creating foot rings, and applying glaze to finish your pieces.
